Mickael, the owner
Vila Oriba is Mickael Devena's home. French, he has known Rio for more than ten years. He lived there for two years — at Posto 5 in Copacabana, in Arpoador and Ipanema, then in Leblon, where he ran a restaurant on Rua Dias Ferreira — before buying this house in Vidigal in 2023 for the view, the quiet and the village life. The house is his own: he rents it out when he is not there, and he wrote the guides on this site, from Rio in 3 days to the Carnival page. In France he also runs two hospitality venues, Domaine Array Dou Sou in the Landes and the group house La Joyeuse Cousinade in Anjou.
Matheus, who welcomes you
Matheus Gularte handles bookings and check-ins. He lives in Rio, answers on WhatsApp in Portuguese, English and Spanish, and knows the neighbourhood: he is the one who calls a Vidigal taxi, recommends a restaurant in Leblon or arranges the driver for the airport. He can be reached throughout your stay.
The caretaker couple
A caretaker couple lives in a separate apartment on the property. They look after the garden and the pool, do the daily hour of housekeeping on weekdays and keep an eye on the house. They do not live in the rented house: it is yours.
