As far as we know, the only four-suite house with a private pool in Vidigal: the neighborhood's other pool houses have one or two bedrooms, and Leblon and Ipanema apartments have no pool of their own. Designer furniture, orange sofas, wood and stone — guests call it « tastefully decorated ».

Leblon in 5 minutes by taxi, Ipanema in 10, Vidigal beach a 7-minute walk. Private-pool penthouses in Ipanema and Leblon list at US$1,200 to 2,600 a night for 8; Vila Oriba is about US$520 — whole house, garden and pool included.

The price, plainly
€450 is the low-season floor rate — expect €550–600 the rest of the year. For 8 guests, that is under €115 per bedroom in low season, less than four double rooms at the hotel next door. 3-night minimum; higher rates at New Year's Eve and Carnival.
Rio at your feet
The house sits at the entrance of Vidigal, at the bottom of the hill, a six-minute walk from the square where taxis and Ubers stop — not at the top. Vidigal is the South Zone's artists' neighbourhood: pacified since 2011, a single guarded entrance, a community with its own rules that it enforces. David Beckham bought a house here in 2014, artist Vik Muniz built his school here, and the Nós do Morro theatre trained the actors of City of God. Its hilltop bars and the Dois Irmãos trail make it one of Rio's most visited spots. Mornings at Vidigal beach, shared with the Sheraton; evenings at Leblon's restaurants.
Frequently asked
Yes. Cariocas call Vidigal “Rio's safe box”: one way in and one way out, a police presence at the entrance since the 2011 pacification, and a community that has set its own rules and enforces them: theft and assault are not tolerated, women are respected. People here work as taxi drivers and in the hotels and restaurants of Leblon and Ipanema; David Beckham and Brazilian actors own houses here. The house is at the bottom of the neighbourhood, on the road to Leblon, and a caretaker couple lives on site. After ten years in Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon, the owner feels safer here than down below — he walks up and down every day, as do his 77-year-old parents — and several guests write the same in their reviews.
About 35 minutes with the house's private driver: R$130 for 3 people with luggage, name sign on arrival. Uber, 99 and taxis drop you at Vidigal square, a 6-minute walk from the house.
Yes. It belongs to the house, not to a building: no neighbors, no schedule. It is not heated; in the southern winter (June–August) the water is cool.

Private-pool penthouses in Ipanema and Leblon list at about US$1,200 to 2,600 a night; villas in Joá or São Conrado, US$2,100 to 5,900. Vila Oriba, a whole four-suite house with private pool and sea view, starts at €450 (about US$520) a night outside peak season — under €115 per bedroom.
Yes. They are the most requested dates: the price is roughly tripled at New Year's Eve with a longer minimum stay, and Carnival follows a similar logic. Copacabana hotels multiply by three to six on the same dates. Book early, direct, on the Rates page.
